Is there one thing you didn't take with you when you moved abroad that you wished you
I asked this on the BE Facebook page.
So what do you wish you had taken but didn't?
Me, we left all our furniture behind and I wished I had brought a couple of small tables that I've never really been able to replace.

Um, nothing really. I followed the advice of, 'lob the lot in the container, worry about what to chuck out when you get there'.
Sorry for those missing friends and family. I miss things too, but nothing that could be packed in a container.

my fridge magnet collection.....we had a built in fridge (i.e. wooden covered door) in London, so our fridge magnets lived on an old unused water heater in a cupboard....so we forgot to pack them : (
Sounds silly but I really do regret leaving them!

I wish I had brought out all my books. All of them. I loved my books. Made me feel happy .
I'd like to have brought out my Rosa Bourkes but that wasn't allowed.

A new bed - they are soooo expensive here and different sizes to the UK.
I did bring a spare single trundler bed (2 in 1) that I had had for about 10 years in the UK and sold it here for more than I paid for it!

More books, wish I hadn't given so many to the charity shop.
My Dyson - I want an upright vacuum but cannot justify the cost over here. I hate cylinder types!

Currently wishing I had the foresight to invest a few hundred quid in a lovely robust and reliable European branded oven and hob when I had the chance.

The neighbour's cat!
Let me explain. Her cat would come over to our house and stay for a couple of hours to avoid her new dog. After two years, the cat has got used to the dog but continued to come round returning home only for food.
The cat really liked me and would happily sit on my lap for hours while the owner never got the same treatment.
When I returned last year, we visited the neighbour and her cat... Only to be completely ignored by the cat. The cat knew it was me but couldn't cope with the abandonment.
The neighbour says the cat still visits our old house and the new occupants but doesn't stay too long. She thinks the cat regrets ignoring me now!
