I could only find these ones on the list:
Auckland
Canterbury
Hawkes Bay
Lakes
Manukau
Marlborough
Northland
Southern
Taranaki
Waikato
Waitemata
West Coast
Which means these one's probably are not:
Bay of Plenty
Capital & Coast
Hutt Valley
Mid Central
South Canterbury
Tairawhiti
Wairarapa
Whanganui

Re: Are there any Nursing jobs in NZ?
Well the sad news is my wife has been treated rather poorly and we are now making plans to head back to the UK.
She has tried District Nursing, Hospices, most of the DHB's and we have had no luck securing a permanent role.
It is sad that we invested in this based on a lie from the NDHB, but its not the first story we have heard how other nurses have been treated.
Its been an experience, we are angry, but nothing we can do. Our visa runs out in 6 weeks.

I think a few of us should double check the accredited employers listing if we have time so we know which remain on the list and which have removed themselves .
Per Bo's list I will add what I found as my findings differ from Bo-J's
Auckland = No
Canterbury = Yes
Hawkes Bay = Yes
Lakes = Yes
Manukau = Yes
Marlborough & Nelson = No
Northland = No
Southern District = Yes
Taranaki = No
Waikato = Yes
Waitemata = Yes
West Coast = Yes

Just a thought... has she applied to the aged care sector?
There always seems to be vacancies there.
Cheers

Re: Are there any Nursing jobs in NZ?
Thanks Gill,
They seem to change the rules all the time, and aged care as of the 15th Jan is no longer an accredited employers, so we have been told we could not get residency on that.
She has had an awful experience in NDHB, bullying is rife, and was told that they don't want UK Nurses... Her confidence has been knocked quite badly by this experience and therefore she wants to head back to NHS where she was well respected in her role.
We love the country, but unfortunately its now no longer a viable place for her to work in...

If she was offered a full time permanent job then she would uplift a work permit from that , then if there was enough points you would go for a skilled migrant residency visa.
An employer does not have to be accredited at all. It just helps .

As Bevs said being an accredited employer is not necessarily going to count out getting a visa (unless its a talent accredited employer one)
Such a shame that your Mrs was put into a crap environment. Ive been questioned,by patients not staff, as to if im here what hapoens to the home grown nurses, a healthy dose of humor and sarcasm normally sees it right or pointing out thst most of the kiwis i work with are defecting to Aus, aisa or europe.
Unfortunately it looks like ,if im wrong i apologise, that tou both got some really bad advice and because of the type of visa youve come in on then most jobs wont see the long term investment

My partner and I are with SCDHB and they couldn't do enough to help us when we arrived a year ago. Seem to be plenty of nursing positions here.

Re: Are there any Nursing jobs in NZ?
Hi
Have you tried kiwi health jobs website? I find there are loads of nursing jobs on there.
I was hired from the UK nearly 3 years ago on an essential skills visa. I got the job through the agency accent. I now have residency and still work the same job at waitemata dhb. Seem a lot of my colleagues are also hired from abroad. I was always made to feel welcome at work and supported by those I work with. Maybe give them a try. Surely some NZ experience is better than none.
Also when applying for my residency last year most of the nursing categories were removed from the skills list. I think just aged care is left on there. So I lost a lot of points that I could have claimed had I applied a month earlier. But having experience here bumped it up to 135 (would have been 180 if I could have claimed the points from the skills list)
