Default temporary accomm - how best to sort broadband?

we've got a holiday let sorted out for a couple of months for when we arrive in a couple of weeks, but there's no phone line to the property. We'd really prefer to have broadband at home for job and home searching, as well as skype etc etc...

the agent is happy for us to install a phone/line, and has said this is an easy thing to sort out, but i just wonder if that's actually the case? and if so, what sort of cost are we talking

the place we're going to apparently has 3G coverage, so maybe that would be the way to go with dongle etc, but should that be PAYG or contract?

would really appreciate advice or guidance?!

thanks everso!

Does the place have a line that is just not active because nobody lives there, or is there no actual line wired at all? Has anybody who lived there before had a phone line? If the line is there but not active, it can be activated in a matter of hours, and broadband activqted in a couple of days. If you need a line wired it will take longer and cost a whole lot more.

THe thing is if you are onyl there for a couple of monhts i dont know if you can actually sign up for a landline, i had to sign up for 12 months, but maybe that was because i took the total home phone and broadband package.

In that case you might have to look into mobile broadband, which is more expensive.

Mobile Broadband might be the way to go as you say.

Prices are much better than they were, even 12 months ago

If you have an iphone or similar, it looks like you can pay by on a casual rate

Just read the small print if you sign up for anything

We had broadband when we moved into our rental.
When we moved into our bought house, Telecom were happy to move the account, including number, to our new place.
Phone them up, explain your situation, and they are more than happy to help.
