They seem to be pretty resigned to managing their decline right now but I've rarely seen this strategy or cost cutting actually work.

Basically they are OK on mobile (though still losing market share), struggling on broadband and see an increasingly steep decline in fixed line revenues. So far their solution has been window dressing and hacking away at staffing costs.

What direction can they take from here?

The competition are offering some pretty good packages including broadband and fixed line.

Older people like my mum won't change but youngsters like me have no such loyalty. Unless they can demonstrate innovation (investment?) then they are history.
