Teaching Go Ahead! – YAY!

Teaching Go Ahead! – YAY!
After the NZQA comfirmed my qualifications, which came through about 2 weeks ago, they then had to send them to the teaching council to issue me with a number and put me on the OFFICIAL list.
The result is that on Friday I had the letter giving me my offical number, and saying my certificate was on the way. YAY for me!
So in order to start my teaching career, I got on the phone to schools and put my name, and CV, out there! So fingers crossed XXXX
I am feeling upbeat, the first time in a long time, and even though i don't know why I am posting this, I just wanted to share my good news. I really didn't think it would be this difficult to start here, but for the first time, I do actually think it will happen soon.
Let’s hope this optimism lasts!
Supply will be good for now, as i am getting nowhere applying for long term jobs.
Have any teachers, or anyone else, out there in NZ-land got any tips for me on how to best sell myself to the local schools?

Woohoo!
Melanie is currently doing a primary school teacher training course - today is her first day's experience in a low decile school with new entrants - lots of Maori and Pacific Islanders. I'm sure she's having fun!

Hi Toni
God news indeed.Hope something comes your way very soon.
Think of how much Tupperware you could shift in a school. "This time next year you'll be a millionaire Rodders"
