tax returns - I'm a numpty
Our four year amnesty was up last year. OH is employed on cards & has deductions made. I'm not in paid work. All our finances are here in various formats incurring tax.
I've been looking at a standard letter from IR which informs me I've not notified my tax agent with info to file a return. Haven't got a tax agent for either of us.
That's the gist, so do we still have to fill in & submit tax returns? Is this what we'll be looking to do for the future?
I've looked at the IR online site & phoned to clarify but having to do the security thing etc etc is a pain.
Would a nice person please take me through the steps I need to do please?

I would highly recommend using an accountant, who will act as your tax agent.
They are not as expensive as you think and can save you much more than their cost.
