Default Tax residency

Hi I'm a UK citizen now living in NZ for the last 5 months . I have just received a letter from my bank asking for my tax residency status. I'm not earning anything back in the UK, only here in NZ which I'm paying tax on. So do only put down that I'm a tax resident for NZ ?

Thanks in advance and stay safe

Default Re: Tax residency

See IRD definition:

https://www.ird.govt.nz/internationa...or-individuals

Potentially some ambiguity around the definition of 'permanent place of abode' if you still have a home in the UK but undoubtedly you will be a Tax Resident as soon as you go past 6 months.
