Tax etc....
Hi,
Ive transferred over to NZ from my job in the UK. Its a large U.S based firm. My manager and other colleagues are all based in Australia and have told me about the "Living away from home allowance".
Could anyone give me some pointers on whether something like this is available in NZ? Any other guidelines that maybe useful for me?
Im going to get taxed to death, so any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

The NZ tax system does not provide additional rebates for working away from home.
Are you being paid from the UK office or the NZ office ?

Re: Tax etc....
As you are being paid by the Australian office you may be considered an Australian employee by the Australian Tax Office (ATO). So it may be possible that you are entitled to some of the Australian subsidies etc even though you are physically in NZ.
If you contact the ATO they should be able to confirm what entitlements you have.
