Switch from SKY to Freeview

Switch from SKY to Freeview
I am pretty fed up of paying approx $80/month for nothing very much. Most of the TV we watch is the main channels TV 1 etc.
Does anyone know if I get a freeview box, do I just plug it into the SKY ariel?

If you've got a satellite dish you need to buy the 'satellite box'. There are 2 versions of the decoder, one for a UHF aerial and another for a satellite (ie sky) aerial, so just make sure you buy the right decoder and you'll be away laughing.

As above, the right box plugs into the Sky dish and as Freeview comes off the same satellite you are good to go, no aerial technician required.

Hi
We bought a satBox ultra (on offer a few months ago) which has a dual tuner HDD recorder. Make sure it is compatible with DishTV.
Oh had Sky & I hated it. Why pay for 8 year old programmes when you can get more recent for free after buying the box?
Can record 2 programmes at once & watch so why pay? I confess to missing live sport like rugby but Prime runs the highlights so a compromise has been made.
Check around for the best price.
BTW, just set it up to the existing dish & you're good to go.

Good on you, nothing like a bit of ParliamentTV or Chinese TV8 to put the MotoGP on the back burner...

From our trip we seem to have a TV that could only pickup Rugby, Rugby, Rugby or Come Dine With Me. A good selection for someone liking Rugby and doing the housework when not.

As far as I can tell, free to view tv is basically cooking, cops or killing people.
Can't see me giving up sky in the foreseeable.
