Strange question about a cooking utensil
Hi all, hope you are all enjoying NZ, strange question, My parents have just returned from a long stay in NZ with family and have talked non stop about a cooking utensil which is described as a "Whale Spoon", wooden and it sits on the side of your pan whilst you are cooking, my husband would like to make one as a suprise gift, apparently this utensil is unique to NZ and I have searched on the internet for a image, without success, please if you know what I am talking about could you advise me of correct name / images or are mum and dad hallucinating after their £20 bottle of wine (which apparently is cheap!!)
Thank you for your help.

The only thing I could find was a whale tail spoon, have a look at the link above to see it that helps.
