Store discount
Do you ask for discount in stores or always pay full price?
If I am making a big purchase, I always ask for the best price they can do. Today I was in a well known tech store and at the till the assistant said "this costs $28 but you can have it for $20" without me even asking for discount.

Re: Store discount
I always ask 'is that the best price', or if I buy that and that what's the best price.
If they don't I go elsewhere, only had to once at Dick Smiths and got a discount in another branch of Dick Smiths the same day.

Re: Store discount
husband usually walks away when the negotiations start
Can't see the harm in it, if their not prepared to offer you anything then their not and then you have to decide if you want to purchase at that cost. Mind you the less that do it means possibly a bigger saving for those that do
