We stopped in Singapore when we went out which was lovely and had assumed we'd do the sme when we emmigrate. Now am seriously intere4sted in this Pan Pacific hotel at Kuala Lumpa - is it child friendly? We'll have 14, 11, 8 and 4 then?! Phew!!

Failing that does anyone have any idea how we could stop in Las Vegas - just for the crack? May have to take a nanny tho?! When I start on Elvis in the casino and have a couple of bellinitinis I'll forget I've got 4 kids?!

I'm not sure if you can fly direct, my in-laws went to Vegas on the way back in January but they flew to LA and hired a car and drove there. They loved it.

I also believe this to be correct, think you have to land elsewhere and chance in-land flights.

Hi we found Pan Pacific g8 in K L you get off plane get baggage etc check in to hotel at airport golf cart pick you up 5 min undercover you are in the hotel, no taxi's the room are lovely 2 double beds or they do family rooms unfortunately they do not do interconeceting rooms but we upgraded and got double front door small hall way leading to 2 bedrooms the kids loved it having their own room but could come out into the hall then into ours. Have a look at their web site staff very friendly gr8 choice of food. We mailnly sat around the pool kids swam. We went in KL very busy glad didn't stay in city hotels are beautiful out their. Its a gr8 hotel if just for a short stopover. Our kids were 11 and 7 when we went.
Las vegas you'd love we have just come back from their last week stayed at the mgm grand gr8 time kids loved it to. We flew direct to vegas with virgin airlines. But you would have to LA to get to Nz. Got to see Grand Canyon we went in hellicopter landed inside the rim fantastic. Have fun.
When are you off to NZ and where abouts are you going.

Paula, Wow what a great holiday. I'd love to go to Grand Canyon.

We had a few trips up to KL- hubby worked on fire /security of Twin towers, he had to go up the outside on a builders lift and he hates heights :scared:
I love KL for a few days but think there are some lovely Islands in Malaysia to stay at. Langkawi was a favourite of ours. Tioman and Perhentian on East coast are pretty and good if you enjoy snorkelling/scuba diving.

That sounds amazing. Hubby has landed me with the job of Chief Investigator for Travel Itinary today, so if I ever get out of this office I shall get up the Travel Agents!

We wanted to go between Xmas and New Year, but have been put off that with advice from on here. Really just the wrong time to get anything sorted when we arrive. So now we're looking at mid-January. Bay of Plentry area - not narrowed it down much more than that.

How about you?

Hi Caroline
we are hoping to go around November, we have accepted an offer on our house and are waiting for that to go through, November is a good time home tutor the kids to begin with so we can have a good look around before they need to go to school in feb. Like you to begin with we will be in Papomoa in Bay of Plenty we like it there and have friends who live there, but we also want to look at Hawkes bay area and have heard a lot about Beachlands up near Auckland. We alao liked Bay of islands we had a g8 time up there in northland but not sure if enough to live not sure if enough to do for the children.
Good luck keep us posted how you are getting on.

Hi Helen
You have a brave husband we visited the Petronas/Twin towers in K L they are enormous. Never been to Langkawi my sisiter has and loved it, could be a pos when we go in November to stay for a few days before we hit NZ originally wanted to go via USA as more luggage allowance but with all that has been happening here with flights to usa not so sure.
If you get a chance you must go and see the Grand cayman and the hoover dam they are amazing. Are you in Nz now?

we are still in UK. Today just received the selected from pool note for EOI. We are hoping to let our daughter take her Alevel exams in May 07 then go. We are also thinking about killing 2 birds with one stone and doing a reccie trip at Easter, and if the visa has come through by then validate visa too. We are looking at Tauranga. Mainly for weather & beach but are realistic enough to go where there's work, something for teenager/ although she'll be going to uni, and somewhere to walk dog.
