State primary education fees
We have been advised by the Ministry of Education in Auckland that we would have to pay a fee for our children to attend state primary school whilst we are in the country on a student visa. Has anyone been in the same situation i.e on a student visa and had to pay for state education for their children?

As I understand it if you have a work permit and are living here whilst your children have student permit you do not have to pay international student fees. It may be different if you are here on a student permit yourself.
