Starting out - Wellington
Hi there, I have been surfing this site for a few weeks now and thought it was about time I got involved!
I am 27 and about to move to Wellington with my OH. I have been offered a job at the NZSO and am coming in on a Work to Residency talent visa. My OH is an audiologist and has also been offered a job but is waiting for the NZ Qualifications Authority to recognise his qualifications, which seems to be taking forever!
We've got accommodation sorted for the first two moth through the company but will then be looking to rent. Any advice!?
It's be great to hear about peoples experiences getting started and settling in Wellington.

Hi Claire,
Kia Ora to you.... You won't have any problems finding anywhere nice to live round Wellington... especially if you sorted for the fiorst 2 months... you can use that time to check out all the areas! If your party animals might be best to stick close to the CBD, for ease of commute, but it really depends on what your both looking for...

Anyway as I'm in a similar position I thought I'd say hello. Good luck with everything,
Hywel.

Hi guys,
you'll love it here. Great city....expect English weather though and you won't be disappointed. Lots to do, great scenery…and most importantly brilliant people. Never been somewhere where the locals (and ex pats) are so welcoming.
Any advice you need…just shout.
Best of luck with the paperwork meantime.
