Start roasting the beans luv

I was thrilled to learn this morning that I can start going to the coffee club again and still apply for a mortgage for my planned new build.
I did contemplate celebrating with a Domino's Pizza but I didn't want to push my luck.

With petrol prices the way they are, I pray you don't have far to go.

Me too! Cheapest place on the North Shore is at Gull Albany Village, $293.7 for 91 and $321.9 for 98. Other Gull's on the shore seem to be hovering around the $303.7 mark for 91.
Pak n Save have 91 for $303.7 and $319.7 for 95. Then you get into BP and Z territory and the cost shoots up to $323.9 for 91 and $340.9 for 95. Caltex and Mobil are priced similarly.
I keep an eye on the cost using the Gaspy App and choose to fill up at the cheapest station nearest to where I have to go for shopping and business. Mainly I'm trying to stay at home!
But great news! I can now have a flat white and a pizza without having to worry!

$3.04 at my local NPD, $3.01 at the local McKeown

I don't bother looking at BP, anyone that wants to pay an extra 40 to 50c for 95 petrol there quite frankly can quit their moaning.

It has gone up by about 35 to 40c at these two but they're still priced far cheaper than what BP were before the rises

Oh well. Probs for us is that there is no public transport so it has to be our little old wagon if we need something away from this village.

Locally we have NPD. We also have......gold cards..... now  so supermarket discount dockets are not needed.

There's an npd on my way to work where I get a work discount. That brings it down to a still ridiculous $2.86

I preferred paying extra 30c in my euro car than putting 91 in it. hardly done **** all miles around Auckland anyways.

I was just curious what 95 was as it's gone through the roof in UK past month. no point comparing 91 in NZ with price 95 in uk.
95 in UK is gone to £1.70 a litre in Tesco cheapest lol moto services in 1.80 min

Oil is slowly coming back (under $100/bbl now.) Oil producers just need to poke some new holes in the ground in places other than Russia.

Given Mr. Putin is having a massive wobbler it might be worth upgrading to an EV, even as a petrolhead I wouldn't lose any sleep about an oil revenues collapse in Russia, Saudi Arabia etc.

Quite an attractive subsidy scheme on EVs as well:

The EV I could afford wouldn't even get me to work and back on a full charge.

I do have concerns for the future for many in rural communities, particularly pensioners who simply can't afford 50 or 60k for a new car and with little to no investment in public transport will effectively be cut off.
