Default Sports Centres in NZ

Are there many sports centres in and around the Auckland area and what hours do they keep?

Here in south Wales it is impossible to book a Badminton court after 4pm on a Saturday, at the moment, because the centres close early!

What's it like in NZ? Playing Badminton is important to us.

Hey Steve

As a swimmer I decided to go see our local pool this week. Well I was surprised indoor 25 mtr pool, 3 separate little pools for children, then 3 huge outdoor pools... It's their 2 week half term so kids go in cheaper, saying that I have lane swum 3 times this week with no one else in my lane at 1430. Price 2.50 that's pounds cheaper ... Can't help with you badminton but I can imagine there wouldn't be a problem

You're obviously limiting your options somewhat and you will have to narrow it down to places where there are the type of facilities you require. So Google.co.nz is your friend.

Not being remotely interested in Badminton myself I would struggle to think of anywhere nearby, however apparently there is:

Badminton is quite big here in NZ as are most sports, there is a large Badminton Hall about one km from Newmarket (99 Gillies Av, Epsom) with @ 16 courts and there are multiple badminton clubs sprinkled around Auckland that play on a variety of evenings.

Here is a link to Auckland Badminton

Plus here is a list of all of the Auckland Clubs where they play and the times the meet / play

Hope this helps

I doubt you will have a problem finding a badminton court to use after 4 pm. My family are all into squash and they can book a court any night.

Not sure where in Auckland you are referring to as it is a spread out region

but this link might help you

I am a tad old for squash and badminton but I still go to the gym and Jett is open 24/7
