Sparkys... any advice on courses/tests/firms in chch area
 

Hi,

We are hoping to move to chch this year and were hoping to get some info on electrical training/tests e.t.c. I've got an offer of provisional license from EWRB but was wondering how long roughly I would have to work under supervision for before taking the electrical tests to become registered... (have been told by EWRB that I need to do the stage 3 practical assessment aswell as the regs course) Would a couple of months on the tools (under supervision) be long enough to prepare for the tests?

Also it would be helpful if anyone can recommend any decent firms in the chch region or maybe knows where they run cheap courses/tests.... I am flying out to NZ in February for a month, so trying to find out as much as possible before I go, so any help or advice would be great, thanks! ;)

not sure if it will be helpful but there is a concerning post in there from someone who has been here 3 yrs and returning as job are hard to keep hold of. might be worth considering even if you do find work
