yeh cash jobs with no or limited paper trails. He can only assume it has been going on for longer than this year and the lawyer could only find one person to make a statement saying they paid cash, scraps of paper and odd text messages that makes the owner think there was lots more but it is impossible to prove hence the reason he was basically forced to resign.
The owner is a nice guy, wants to keep the crew employed and doesn't seem to be able to catch a break at the moment. Poor guy this morning nearly got his car stolen, luckily he was making his way back to it and saw what was happening.

It's still a bit odd. Apart from having to pay for advice and presumably pay out a few extra weeks wages for notice and annual leave that he would have accrued in his accounts anyway; he is seemingly no worse off than he was before the fella went on his holidays.
The company is not missing any money, as they never had it in the first place, so how is it that he suddenly had to close the office and is struggling to keep the rest of the crew employed? He must have had his head in the sand and been close to folding already!!
