Somewhere new- part of the move was to make uni easier as I'd have a long commute to the satellite campus in Napier from where we were or do distance learning, which I don't really fancy. From the exploring we did in the two years there I *think* the Waikato would suit us well, just mulling things over.
Leaving NZ made us realise how Kiwi we'd become and if we're honest we had grave doubts but just went through with it carried along on a love of Australia.

hey bourbon, I felt the exact same way you did when I was in Oz.
It's really weird I think..........(I am not Kiwi you know). so ended up leaving oz anyway at the end - which I couldn't help. I also had a fantasie/even thought oz could be better than NZ in many ways........but it obviously was NOT. (Just different though) Overall, makes me realize ; "NZ IS NOT a Bad country"......... NZ has got everything (almost) what I need (least). -- if not everything. 
(What else do I need more? surely I am not looking for luxury, nightlife, sophistication, or even sophisticated British boyfriendSSS 
etc here..........but I feel comfortable enough .........without those extra.......nah... I actually gave up I think...)
Being in NZ it does Gives Me Peace of Mind - for me, that's very important.
at the end of the day simply there's no paradise.............

wow cool post, I always feel there must be somewhere better than NZ, but I may be wrong, like USA, Canada, but maybe I'm fantasising also ....
but I do like a man with a American accent, ok im talking random, but its evening, the tv is boring tonight and Im having a wine

We never know what we have do we? I think it's part and parcel of being an immigrant or even if you're used to moving around within the same country - it gets a bit addictive I sometimes think I want to move out of Auckland just to be going somewhere different and then wonder if I'll miss it
Home is a state of mind and although it'll be unsettling (and expensive) maybe moving to another part of NZ is what you need. Good luck.
