Snooker & Pool in NZ
Snooker & Pool in Wellington...
Been looking for leagues in Welly, but the interest in cue sports generally in NZ seems minimal. Anyone know if there is a league or even weekly events that are in the capital?
Coming from the UK and being an avid fan, living here for 12 months and getting withdrawal symptoms now...

Here's a link for the Wellington branch of NZ Billiards and Snooker and includes contact details.
In Christchurch, the 'Working Mens Clubs' have quite active social clubs including pool. A quick google search for this term brings up a couple of clubs in Wellington. Here is a good example: http://petoneclub.co.nz/adjuncts/8-ball/
From experience, Workingmens Clubs can be great places to socialise and be involved in activities.

We play at Porirua Club, but not in the league, which Snooker is on Mondays & Pool on Tuesdays. If you want to meet up for a game on a Friday night& to suss it out, pop me a PM.

Your local club would be the best bet to meet like minded people and get info about tournaments.
I know that my own club (Upper Hutt Cossie) has thriving snooker and pool adjuncts and have recently hosted a National Pool competition.
