I have found that NZer's are too bothered about poopus interruptus! I have yet to find a bathroom door in a house (as opposed to at work or a public toilet) that has a lock built in. Both our rental and our own house didn't have a lock (Steve has changed the handle in our new house). In friends' houses they either don't have a built in lock or they have a little bolt added by someone after the door furniture had been fitted.

the size of the agapanthus & arum lilies (amoungst others) , they are huge & i can't wait to have my own garden

I find it strange watching people jump out of their cars at the swimmimg pool already clad in swimsuit and towel! They jump back in after swimming, soaking wet and drive off!

On the good side - FREE Public Toilets everywhere - Clean and working as you would expect (you must pay $$$$ for a pee even in Macdonalds in Brussels )!!!
On bad side - Shops close at 2 pm on Saturdays, Many bars, cafes close early at 5-6 pm at least here in Nelson and Motueka, everyone goes shopping on Friday evenings and Saturday morning
