Skype
Hi,
I know there are a few of you who use this to communicate from NZ to UK and vice versa but how good is it?
I've just installed the latest and at the moment it's just pants :curse:
Pixellating video and patchy voice.
Anyone else experience this or have any tips?

Re: Skype
MSN works better for us, depends what time of day we use it though, sometimes the quality is terrible. Crap broadband over here doesn't help

Re: Skype
It takes a bit of practice as there is a delay on it off around a second or two. SOund wise we've found it pretty good, but video could be better but i would suppose that depends on your web cam. Have used it several times for long periods and it doesn't cost a bean.

Re: Skype
We find that the quality on skype of both sound and video varies quite a bit.
There's no doubt a better broadband helps but when the quality is not good of either sound or picture when the call connects we usually hang up wait 5 mins and it tends to improve. If not we repeat the hang thing until it does.

Tried last night and it was a lot better, but still not brilliant.
I've been told that sightspeed is the best, so will try it tonight.
Let you know how I get on.
