Default Sky digibox

Hi,

Does anyone know if you can bring a Sky digibox from the UK or will we need to obtain a new one once we get out there?

I'm sure you will need to get an NZ digibox but your UK TV set should work and be ok with a plug change. This thread may help you.

yep, you will need a NZ digibox, the uk one didn't work. Sky are crafty out here. When we subscribed, we got a 2nd hand box and had loads of problems with it, but they eventually gave us a new one. Apparently its just luck of the draw if you get a new or old one. The remotes are crap too!!

If you live in the right area with a UHF aerial you could get terrestrial freeview and watch the Olympics in HD better quality than $ky (I've seen it a a friends' HDTV) and the boxes are $400 from DSE.
And not give Murdoch his $$$s.........
As far as TVs go <search> is your friend look for PAL-I and PAL-B/G for the threads.....as I can't be bothered, sorry....
