...Or was it an error? Both teams have seen each other play and previously played each other anyway.

Well it's all over now......yeah right. Roll on the hype train.

SBW giving his medal away was an awesome moment for me.

Sport sociologist Toni Bruce, an associate professor at the University of Auckland's Faculty of Education and Social Work, is conducting a survey gauging Kiwi experiences and attitudes of the 2015 World Cup. Dr Bruce did similar surveys in 2007 and 2011. She said this year's results so far revealed a group she calls "the silent majority" - people who are uninterested in rugby and the Rugby World Cup. They include "some who are actively resistant to what they see as rugby's dominance of New Zealand's cultural life", Dr Bruce said. "They don't like what they see as the link to violence, the increasing commercialisation of the All Blacks, or the way that New Zealanders invest so much of their identity into sport." "In both 2015 and 2011, people wrote that they would be 'secretly' pleased or would have to 'pretend to be sorry' if the All Blacks lost," she said.
Interesting, and fair I think too. Plenty of peeps I know don't give a hoot about the rugby and no doubt will be pleased when it gets off the front page / top of the news bulletin.
On reflection, the obsession of UK papers with football is not too different. Can take a while to find the first non-football news at back of the paper.
Media everywhere seems to want to push the national sport down everyone's throat, taking very simplistic view if you're not into it then that's not very patriotic.

Actually it was a really poor survey of about 200 people who bothered to respond to her, not very indicative. Plenty of people I know do give a hoot about the rugby and will be glad when it's off the front page too.

LOL it just doesn't have quite the same impact when there's half-hearted skinny white guys involved.

Cam't say I've ever met a Scotsman or Welshman living in their adopted country of England not wanting England to fail. Sport without fierce rivalries and banter would be pretty boring. The Kiwis here and those living in their adopted England loved it when England failed and that's the way it should be.
I'll tell my Derby County mates that live in their adopted Nottingham to wish Forest well for the rest of the season.....

Rise above those clowns mate. They are the same idiots that support Man Utd (There is a Man Utd supporters club in Aberdeen for example) but hate England and the English with a venom.

I don't think its going away - they have to milk it for all its worth and some.

This morning my ears were assaulted by Dan Carter doing some shaky lame voiceover for a low-budget radio advert for the opening of a bed shop.

The ruddy herald webshite still has a whole section for RWC, but I suppose at least it means that there might be some other sports mentioned in the sport section. But don't
