Default Show me the money

Hi

I have a question.

What standard of living could I expect in NZ on a salary of 100.000 (one hundred thousand) NZD? Two adults no kids. It seems very little compared to the UK rate for the same job. Can any one help with this question?

Thanks in advance

A good one, if you have been offered that amount i would jump at it...

my husband earns a little less and we have two kids I only work casual part time, we have a good life here we eat out regular, have holidays etc etc...

mind you we dont have much of a mortgage and we brought some capital over with us...

as for visiting the Uk...It would take nearly all our savings...but we have just started saving $100 per week, so cant be bad...

what do you do?

Thanks for replying!

My partner is in IT and I am in education. We received notification that we have been accepted for a residence permit this morning- I am rather stunned by it!

From some of the threads I have been reading on here, I was getting a bit concerned that we might be giving up a good thing we have over here for a life of financial doom!

If anyone else can chip in with comments, I would be mighty grateful!

Depends how much your mortgage or rent will be if that is the case. $100k is almost 3 x the NZ median salary. We have 3 kids and a cat and in total we earn around $80k ish per annum with no rent or mortgage. We live quite well on that. We save nothing but live well, better anyway than we did in the Uk where we earned joint about £47k = $120k at today's exchange rate!!!!!
