You usually get residency straight off under the Skilled Migrant Category, though there are exceptions. Did you mean Work to Residence or a Work Visa?

NZ citizens don't have to wait 3 yrs tho, unlike UK citizens who want to go to uni in the UK ...

I'm not saying it shouldn't be that way, merely pointing out that if your daughter wants to go to a NZ Uni, she will not get a student loan and you will have to pay everything. Just thought you might like to know so you can factor in the cost.
