To be honest I can't really say I care what way the vote goes now because the amount of lies being told by both sides is unbelievable. Still large oil fields in the west of Scotland that can't be drilled because we need to keep Faslane for the tridents! Whatever way the vote goes Scotlands screwed!

Read this article from an independent company

Scottish West Coast untapped oil and gas reserves worth trillions - Oil and Gas News

Fair enough we can't access some of the oil right now but trust me having worked somewhere that test oil and gas equipment these companies are more than willing to through money at this kind of thing.

Seems to me to be like cutting off of a very large nose just to spite your face. I actually could not care less because it will not affect me or mine one jot, but one can only hope they have done the maths and have it all sussed out, as it seems to me they have everything to lose and nothing to gain.

Scotland and NZ are much alike in respect that so many folks that love it and think it's wonderful prefer not to live there. So it is rather pleasing to see that millions of plastic Jocks and expat armchair experts don't get to vote.

I like the way the claimed Scottish waters conveniently have a big bulge in them to encompass all the oil fields.
Not sure who drew up that plan

Only one to declare now and Mr H and I have job security once again, can breath a sigh of relief and start thinking forward now with hope.

Thank goodness for the United Kingdom staying united

It'll be a neverendum.

I thought SNP might have been better to make a strategic move towards a highly devolved union before asking if they should cut the cord.

Similarly UKIP on Europe, they need a progressive phase out to mitigate economic risk.

Luckily neither take this view.

I'm a bit surprised at the result. Thank goodness for Gordon Brown.

It's already highly devolved with Scotland having it's own parliament, separate MSPs to the UK government MPs and tax altering powers.

You can see what's devolved and what's still decided on a UK wide basis on the Parliament website. Further powers were devolved in 2012 after the initial devolution.

You can read a snapshot summary of the tax varying issue here, from 2016 Scotland will be able to vary it's own income tax by more than the current 3%.
