Wow. I guess the risk is rentals not allowing pets.

Not for us . We were in rentals for a good two years or more before buying. No problems with two cats in tow.

We simply offered an extra bond which was not required and offered to have the carpets cleaned etc which was also not required.

edit to add. Ty was 6 when he emigrated with us. He was a very nervy, one person (me) , cat. Holly was 9 & more laid back in all. Both breezed the double long hauls + internal flight. Or perhaps it's more that they snoozed it. All they wanted was fuss and food. The pair of them.
