shipping cars

Hey guys, thinking of shipping car. It's a Peugeot 3008 mpv. Looked at costs, but obviously hidden costs don't tell full story. What would total costs amount to approx.

contact AA NZ direct, they will ask for:

Make
Model
Type of fuel (petrol/diesel)
Date of first registration
How long you have owned it
Expected port of entry in NZ

It seems the minimum is you'll need new brakes all round when it gets here for compliance

Mine was too old (by a few months) to actually import... and also probably not wise to import a complex 200k miler diesel car anyway. Plus the added factor that by buying when we land we get to use the car from the start, rather than having to rent until the container has cleared and the import has been inspected and registered.

(also suspect buying a Japanese car is more sensible than a European car that might be so rare that spares are impossible to get locally)

I hear this a lot but it wasn't the case with mine. Maybe because it was 18 months old and I apparently don't use the brakes (finally changed the rears at 10 years old and 95,000km)
