Default Shipping agent recommendation from NZ to UK

Does anyone have any recommendations for shipping agents that are reasonably priced but above all competent in personal effects removals for our return back to the UK?

Yes! I just cant see myself here in the long term, so making plans for UK spring time to return. We had to try it as my partner is a Kiwi but we just feel alien here and the prices for everything are simply beyond a joke. Didn't think that wishing to cook a stir fry would be a "lifestyle" choice - $4.99 one green pepper, $18 a kilo for courgette. Still, the 2 litre ice cream is only $5 and 4 bottles of pepsi for $5! Perhaps it just me that have their priorities up their proverbial! They build factories to make rubbish but apparently a Polly Tunnel must be a Northern Hemisphere thing!

I do like a good moan!

Instead of expensive jewellery I wear salad items.

This is a Kiwi Rolex I sold a kidney to buy, I think you'll agree it makes quite a statement.

How funny yet how true!

I used to like going shopping in the UK, but that has never been a pleasure here, as I wander around thinking that that everyone must be high on P to think that these prices are acceptable. And the people that struggle the most are the indigenous people. People just seem to think it's ok and pay up!

It's a shame and so disappointing to us, but still need to move on!

I've started dreaming about shopping in Leeds and picturing myself in Kirkgate Market surrounded with an abundance of affordable fresh food and produce. I took the markets and stalls totally for granted when we lived in Yorkshire, I would walk through the markets without giving the stalls a second look.

This time round I'll be like a giddy kid in Disneyland. My old Nan (god rest her soul) will be so proud of me, she used to tell me when she was a girl all they got for Christmas was an apple and an orange, I've already written to Father Christmas and I've asked for something we've not been able to afford for 5 and a half years, a cucumber and a tomato. It's going to be quite a Christmas!!!!

Ha ha ha or should I say Ho Ho Ho. You certainly know how to spoil yourself! Don't forget to grab yourself a decent sausage in Yorkshire as I haven't had one since I left the UK. So why do Kiwis have BBQ's with the worlds worst collection of overpriced and over salted "pork style" sausages?
Will you be stocking up on toilet roll to take back as its the only commodity I can find that is cheaper. But I think its cheaper and always at the beginning of the store just in case you need it when you "s*** yourself" when the shop assistant presents you with the bill and you are worried your card will be declined and all you have bought are the basics for the week!

Have you had an estimate from Crown Relocations ? Ask if they offer an 'early bird' discount if you book with them far enough in advance.

Seeing as you are going to have 'double summer' by having the NZ summer then going home in March for the UK spring and summer.

(Insurance will be extra to the move estimate.)

Christmas in the winter tops all of that for me.

Salad veg as jewellery....tea he ! Now I know what accessories to wear.

Having said that there's an advert on t.v. at the moment where the guy has lettuce leaves on his clothes and a goat is eating one of the lettuce leaves on his knee.

Matt's sweet pepper Rolex would fit in well with that outfit.

I will get an estimate from Crown for sure - thanks.

Yes it will be nice to have double summer especially as we will be relocating to Edinburgh/Scottish Borders. We came over in December 15 from Hertfordshire, but we want a change when we return to the UK. NZ just isn't for us!

Hope you have a great time. Scotland will be chilly but nice.

,

We came over from Surrey Feb 2011.

Yeah, I can relate to that. I'm in no tearing hurry to return to the Home Counties. However, would have to go wherever the work's located.

NZ just isn't for us !
I can so relate to that ! (You've remarked about feeling alien here. Yeah, that about sums up how I feel.) Also, like you, my other half is a kiwi.

hi,

Couple of top tips, check out FIDI website for a list of FAIM certified international removal companies that serve your area to make sure whoever you're using is fully qualified and independently vetted for international moving.

You can consider movers based in NZ or in the UK and it might be worth getting quotes from both sides to compare.

There are lots more tips about choosing reputable removals companies and your different options over on our vendor forum for International Removals advice. Hope it helps!
