Senior Authorised Person Power Engineers?
Afternoon all,
Hoping to find a bit of advice. Moved over with my family in January and struggling to find work. My wife is employed (thankfully) but within my industry it seems I'm back to the drawing board.
I was a Senior Authorised Person in the UK and was hoping to do a similar role here (I have cast my job application net wider than this). Does anyone have any idea of what they call it over here, or what they require? So far I'm hitting a brick wall trying to find out. EWRB also claim I have to be registered, however there is no equivalent within the power industry within the UK. So I'm planning on sitting the electrician registration exam (I had done enough hours of wiring etc to sit this) but would prefer not to if it is going to be a waste of money.
Is anyone in the Power industry on this board? If so what did they have to do to convert from UK authorisations to Kiwi ones?
Cheers in advance!
David

From my understanding you need a licence to work.
have a look here to see if you can transfer any of your UK qualifications:
https://www.ewrb.govt.nz/registratio...from-overseas/

Thanks but I have already done that. Its a strange situation whereby the power company in the UK does its own authorisations via their training centre. I'm trying to ascertain if its the same here or if they purely go by the ewrb registration in which case i think i will have a struggle on my hands.
I really need someone within the industry to give advice.
Thanks again.

PM sent.
Let me know a bit more about where you are, the role you're after and maybe which companies you've already approached ?
