seeking salary info
Hi, was wondering if anyone would be able to help me out.
Have been trying to get some information regarding potential salary for my wife and I for our jobs in NZ. There is some information out there, but we're finding it conflicting or sketchy.
My wife is a vet (small animal) with 12 years experience and 2 years management experience.
I am a biomedical scientist (medical laboratory scientist) specialising in biochemistry 11 years post registration with 3 years management experience. Post graduate degree (MSc).
Sorry if this seems a bit cheeky to ask but thought I would chance my arm, any help gratefully appreciated!

Hi John,
I find Careers.govt.nz to be useful for salary calculations:
https://www.careers.govt.nz/jobs-database/
Hope that helps!

Re: seeking salary info
Hi there,
I'm a Kiwi and my parents are medical laboratory scientists. My dad is currently a laboratory manager, so I asked him what you could expect.
He said a base salary of $55-65000 with $10-15000 further if you work evening/night/weekend shifts. Management is $80000+.
I hope that helps.

That's really helpful, thanks! I'm currently working as a deputy lab manager myself but I'm prepared to step back down for a move to NZ.
Ask your dad if he's looking for someone with plenty of experience with Abbott biochemistry equipment lol
