Secondary schools near Wellington
Hi,
I've just been offered a job with Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) in Wellington, and my wife and I are going to visit Wellington for a week at the beginning of June to check-out schools and areas to live.
As we have 2 children (daughter 13 & son 11), we will need to find an intermediate school and a secondary school, preferably both co-ed.
Currently, we have been considering Johnsonville, Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt areas....we will initially be looking to rent a 3/4 bed house.
We would welcome any recommendations of specific areas we should view and schools within those areas.........also any areas we should avoid!
My office will be in the centre of Wellington, so ideally don't really want more than a 45 min commute.
Any other suggestions/advice would be most appreciated, as this is a VERY BIG step to take for the whole family to move from the UK.
Many thanks in advance!
Allan

Can't speak for any co ed schools in the Hutt Valley as i don't know of any, but in the Johnsonville Area, you could look at either Onslow College or Tawa College...

Yes, Johnsonville for schools, it also has a train station to commute into town (15mins). My friends boy has recently started the intermediate school there, if you have any questions just shout
