Yeah but remember, now cheap food AND no heating costs....and you wouldn´t believe how many places are FREE parking outside the city itself. We´re off to the Browns Bay Santa parade and airshow later.....hmmm should be ok in jandals and tee´s Hope Santa doesn´t get too hot

Oh and salt only goes on food here...which is why you still get the occasional SD1, Mk2 Escort and even Austin land-crab on the roads...

Good idea! It's worth a moan that when I go shopping atm there's so much cheap fruit and veg that I don't know what to buy and what I do buy we rarely get through quickly enough.

Well, I'm hoping for scorching today as I have a free day, nothing planned, nothing urgently requiring my attention and a hammock and good book with my name on it.

Scorching today!!!

Way too hot for me but also very windy, the wind has flattened quite a few of the plants in the garden
Still scorching at 10.15pm but at least the hot air winds seem to have calmed down

Maybe this should be in the Christchurch peculiar weather thread

Definitely should be in the Strange ChCH weather, as now it's so warm that we have the aircon on at 10pm

It's been another steamy and horribly clammy day, rather than scorching day in Auckland. The humidity is something ridiculous like 94%.

My thermometer hit 34 here in Dunedin yesterday but the winds topped 100kph!!! Today it has been very warm and windy again,up at 30 at 1000hrs....exit to pool with kids Now we've just had a shower and it's looking like possibility of thunder......really muggy and sticky with grey clouds overhead. it's nice on Saturday as don't want to disappoint family in Scotland if I have to tell them we weren't at the beach on Xmas day

It's never affected me like this in other years - maybe because we had a more gradual lead up to it ........ in February! It's crazy weather all over the world - I suppose if we had the choice we'd mostly pick the humidity... but only after consideration. It really does get to you after a while, especially when the aircon breaks down at work

Scorching !

Far too hot to continue with the veg garden makeover. Better to sit on the deck and just think about the revamp.
