We have been here 1 month tomorrow, Sunday, it has rained on one day and the others have been glorious sunshine. I have been living in a pair of shorts and enjoying every minute of it. C it might not be scorching for Kiwi,s but for a poor sod that has not seen much sun for the last 5 "summers" it's BLOODY scorching and I for one am loving it. The sun helps people smile and take away the glum faces.....

Wearing shorts and t-shirt are seen as some kind of barometer of the weather, which is why Kiwis insist on wearing them all through the winter, even if they do look like sad sacks with their jumpers and leggings underneath. 
I am bloody freezing this morning and the only way I'll be wearing any shorts, is if I can fit them over the top of my PJs and dressing gown.

Seeing as how December through February was diabolical weather wise (the worst apparently since records started here in the Waikato), to say the least, I think it only fair to mention that March through April has been scorching and very sunny in comparison.
