schools
Hi, wondering if anyone can help? we are moving over to Auckland 3rd July on temporary work visa's with view to be permanent. The children both have student visa's. What are the costs for schooling in Aukland for 5 and 8 year old? Getting very confused on school websites.

From what I have read, your children should be treated as domestic students - not international. Immigration.gov.nz states
"Primary and secondary schooling: You are considered to be a domestic student to study at primary or secondary school level if you are in New Zealand to study under a New Zealand Government-approved exchange programme scheme or your parent or legal guardian is one of the following.....The holder of a valid work visa ..."
Since you are the holder of a valid work visa, it seems from this that your children should be domestic students. Other fees, such as school donations, levies, or attendance dues are much smaller scale. You will have to pay for school books, stationery and remember there are no school lunches.
