School Fees
I'm going round in circles here - so I thought I'd just stop getting myself tied in knots and ask the ones in the know - BritishExperts.com
What can I expect to pay for school fees in NZ? One lad of 15, one girl of 13, want them both to go to a co-ed school together. Are they counted as international students or not if we're on a visitors visa? I've e-mailed a couple of schools asking this but haven't had a response.
Help!

Best thing to do on this one is to pm a member called Rascal...who has kids of various ages at school in NZ...and will be able to tell you all about the costs involved!!!
Just my thoughts, but I have a funny feeling that if you are on a visitor's visa and your kids apply for students visas that you may have to pay international fees BUT DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR THIS - It's just my personal thoughts - I'm no expert you know!!!

Re: School Fees
Jan, had another look at students and it looks like your kids will be classed as domestic students if you or your husband are holders of a work permit...see here..http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...ly/default.htm.
So you might not need to go busking after all if you manage to land jobs and get work permits before applying for their student permits!!!
However, if you go on visitor's visas I still think that in order for your kids to get student permits that the international student fees will be applicable...
I would check with NZIS though just to be on the safe side...
