Default Sat Nav

I have a tom tom sat nav ,I know they are sold in NZ ,question is can I buy the street plan memory card there to plug into mine and will it work in NZ.
I am just waiting for my EOI to be passed as we have had it accepted for approval and now await the next stage .I cannot wait to get back to a country so peaceful and laid back.Too many people here in the UK and no space.

I'm not aware of any TomTom maps for NZ, I used the PPC version in the UK but am relying on paper maps here. You can get the Navman solution but it's quite expensive - c$500 for the PPC software and maps, but this wouldn't work on a TomTom "Go".

Default Buggered if I know.............

I have always thought a Tom Tom was a type of African or aboriginal drum or a member of Tom-Tom-Macoute of Papa-Doc Duvalier infamous reign.

PPC I am clueless, partly politically correct?

Buggered if I know.

Ho hum!

I'm not sure about TT, but our little Garmin i3 (absolutely excellent by the way, beats TT hands down) - but Garmin have released the NZ maps now.

They have UK-like coverage of all the major cities (AKL, CHC, WLG etc) and the rest looks pretty basic (just main roads) - but it won't be long before they're all in there I reckon!

Global Positioning System I believe, otherwise known as a GPS. We have a Garmin and use it for geocaching. Anyone with a GPS and children or a dog who love getting out and about, check out the following site on geocaching (ie treasure hunting/a walk with a purpose): www.geocaching.com

NZ has a few of them. Good fun, recommend it. Carmen.

Well we do like to confuse the elders!

Great little Satnav unit that gives you turn by turn directions as you drive, and tells you where your nearest restaurants/supermarkets/mcdonalds etc are!

Ahhhhhhhhhh.......now I see!

Does it play games and such should one get totally bored or worse still lost whilst driving?

Fortunately for me I know where the nearest MacDonalds is, can't say I like them too much as they upset my stomach, tend to fill me full of gas........errrrrrr sorry that is probably a bit too much information.
