Sandflies/Mozzies in Wellington/Kapiti

Sandflies/Mozzies in Wellington/Kapiti
Does the area of Wellington and Kapiti suffer from Mozzies or Sandflies as badly as other parts of NZ? I was bitten badly in other parts of the country during a stay in spring. With Wellington and Kapiti coast being quite windy, does it suffer less from Mozzies?

No real problems here in Welly that I know of, depends where you stay!
North West of teh South Island is Sandfly central from what I rememeber though!
