TRades & Services
Min $47281
Ave $53110
Max $58939
Min $47281
Ave $53110
Max $58939
From what we both know of the employed trade-persons wages around here, I would say these figures are a good reflection.

Re: Salary Snapshot
Salary is all relative, if you earn $50k you will spend $50k, if you earn $200k you will spend $200k.
Depending on the sector you work in will dictate your wage, private owned compamies can sometimes pay over the odds as they have no shareholders, but on the flip side their income can also be less so they might pay less.
I have been here 4 years now and have not been on a salary less than $60k and I have moved jobs 3 times

Re: Salary Snapshot
But it will depend on other factors too. We could easily spend $200k a year (if we had that coming in) but most of it would go on paying off our mortgage, putting in double-glazing & buying (desperately-needed) new furniture.

Re: Salary Snapshot
also remember the huge amount of tax payable on that salary
but yes we are no better off in what we spend but we are better off in that we are paying most of it into our mortgage as we want that cleared

Re: Salary Snapshot
When I left Birthcare 2 years ago I was on $28/hr with 10 years experience, a degree & a diploma. What really p!ssed me off was that we midwives were in charge of the nurses & they only got $1-2 less than us

Basically put we all live to and beyond our means, if we earn $60k we wil buy a house and car .... relative to that salary the same goes if you earned $200k you would buy a bigger house and better car .....

Re: Salary Snapshot
not always, Gary still has his old chugga that he bought off a friend when he got here for a grand, but to be honest there is no point buying another one as it sits at the heliport for 3 weeks at a time and when we home we use mine ( swift) that we bought when we arrived after selling our cars in the UK
we wont be buying a bigger house , this one is big enough lol. Though with that we dont have a huge mortgage as we put a lot of our UK money in it and have managed to pay a bit off in the last 6 months

Re: Salary Snapshot
I'm quite happy with the size of my house mostly. The only way I'd be moving to a bigger house is if I won lotto. I have a builder standing by .
OH could do with a new car though but that's way down the list
