Default Is it safer to re-wire everything or buy adapters?

Just got all our stuff from crown yesterday!
Very good service btw.

Now do I spend a day re-wiring or $150 on adapters?

Which is safest?

Agreed - re-wire.

Some home insurance policies are void if adapters are used.

State ins are cool with adaptors. They only would void a claim if a fire starts as a result of some plonker forcing a UK plug into a kiwi one.

Depends on what you mean by adapters. If you mean travel adapters, then this is a clumsy and quite unsafe way to connect appliances for long periods. (I say unsafe because a lot of these things can lead to insecure physical connection and partially exposed plug pins). On the other hand, using UK multi-socket boards with an NZ plug attached is a good solution, provided the NZ plug is wired correctly. For heavy-current devices such as washing machines, kettles, vacuum cleaners etc then replacing the UK plug with a suitable NZ one is the best solution.
