Thankfully my daughter and I made the move back to Oz just before Christmas so we are safe and well but heartbroken for our old home. I was just sitting on the bench in front of the Cathedral last week (over there very briefly to finalise some things) and have been a zombie all day watching the footage roll in.
Thinking of my neighbours who looked after us so well when we were there in the last one, but who we never ended up getting contact details for. Thoughts and prayers with everyone still in Christchurch.

Kevin would have been working in a shopping mall but I don't know which one. He is working for Whytes (a building/shopfitting company). My son Sam is living in Glenstrae Road, Recliffs. He could have been there or gone into the city.

Prayers and every sympathy to all at this terrible time in Christchurch. When I first heard of this earthquake in NZ on a BBC Radio Five Live news bulletin at 08:00 hrs GMT this morning 22 Feb and that 65 people had been reported killed I was shocked. I'm ashamed to admit that had this event had taken place in another country not connected to the UK - say Turkey or Japan or somewhere else - I would not have felt quite the same as I did on hearing this. "Those are our people down there!" I kept telling myself.
