Not sure if anyone can help me, but on 17th May we had an interview in London for RNZAF. Met a couple based at Wittering who were also applying. Managed to get their email, but have now very cleverly managed to lose it! Was hoping to stay in touch with them, so if anyone knows Debbie, not sure of hubbies name, but they have a 12 year old daughter, and were based down in Culdrose up until about 18 months ago. Would love to get in touch, but as I say have foolishly lost contact details. A bit of a long shot but if anyone knows them please let them know I am on this forum, the name's Beth living down in Cornwall. Thanks

Hi all. First post. Came across the above and thought that's us. OH has been in touch with Beth following an email from the good people at the lateral recruiting office. All appears to be going well with our move, OOS received last month for Auckland and EOI submitted. Now just waiting to see if we get an ITA. Due out of RN next July having submitted my notice. All quite scarry and a bit of a gamble but really looking fwd to the move.

Due out end of august 09. Not too worried about the ships I've managed to avoid them for the best part of my carreer. Just got to wait and see if I manage to sell the house now, should be a doddle in the current climate
Thanks DC for your kind words.

I will be in London on the 22/8 if all goes well and then fly out. No confirmation of exact job yet. Looks like we will be on same induction. Keep in touch. Cheers

Just to let you all know got a second email, this is to tell me that I did not get selected at this selection. But would like to keep your name on record for the next selection in 2009.
But hey I have only been waiting 4 year and getting old and bolder. LOL.

Stan Per Ardua.

Thank you for submitting your application to join the RNZAF as part of our Overseas Recruitment programme. We have now considered all applications submitted for the August 2008 Overseas Selection Board.
At this Selection Board, unfortunately your application was not selected for continuation to the next stage due to there currently being no vacancies within your trade and/or at your rank level. However, this situation may change in future and so we would like to hold your application over to the next Overseas Selection Board to be held February 2009. We can not give you any guarantee that vacancies will arise in your trade within this time frame, but if they do we would need an active application from you in order to considered you against any potential vacancy.
Accordingly, we would like your agreement to keep an active application open until the next Overseas Selection Board in February 2009. If you agree to this, please keep in contact with any changes to your personal details.
Thank you again for your interest in our recruitment programme and we hope that you will agree to continue with your application. If you choose not to continue with your application, we wish you all the best in your future career endeavours.
Thanks

Hello,
A bit new to all this but am wondering if anyone could answer a bit of a personal question
? Hubby has a job offer with RNZAF, but has had a bit of a depressing conversation with someone who went out to NZ with the NZ navy, couldn't manage financially and so came back. This guy apparently had no mortgage and had bought quite a big house and had savings too. We have no savings and would need a mortgage so was just wondering how do you find wages against cost of living? Don't want to be sitting in a shed admiring a lovely view but living on baked beans!
