Hi there,

The lateral recruitment team have only just visited the UK for interviews a couple of weeks ago, so I guess they are now back in NZ. You will get an email back from them, but I believe that you will have to wait for next years recruiting process. Good luck!

Not sure if anyone can help me, but on 17th May we had an interview in London for RNZAF. Met a couple based at Wittering who were also applying. Managed to get their email, but have now very cleverly managed to lose it! Was hoping to stay in touch with them, so if anyone knows Debbie, not sure of hubbies name, but they have a 12 year old daughter, and were based down in Culdrose up until about 18 months ago. Would love to get in touch, but as I say have foolishly lost contact details. A bit of a long shot but if anyone knows them please let them know I am on this forum, the name's Beth living down in Cornwall. Thanks

Hiya, we were at Wittering 2005, still keep in contact with a few people will see if they know who is appling for NZ. When we were applying everyone knew! My next door neighbour here in NZ has just come from there so will ask her when I see her if she knows Debbie as she has a 12 year old daughter also.
How are you feeling with the waiting?! Nerve wrecking eh? Have you thought where you would like your posting if you get it? We are at Auckland and are very happy with it, we also know people who are at Ohakea and love it .

Thanks for that, this lady has a brother that lives in New Zealand, so that bit of info may help. It's good to keep in touch with a few poeple who are doing the same thing. We are with the Navy, fleet air arm, and to our surprise so were a few others on the day of the interview, we thought it would be all RAF. If we get accepted I think we were told it could be Auckland, not 100% sure on that though, will go where they put us! We now have about another month to wait, so am trying not to think about it at the moment. If we do make it over, will be good to meet. What do you do with yourself, is it pretty easy to get work. I am a teaching assistant and would like to continue working in a school. Do you have children in school over there? All your info greatly appreciated! Well better go, on lunch break, let us know if you find out anything about Debbie, think her husband may have been Scottish but not sure. Bye for now, Beth.

The bond is about $40,000 depends on how big your family is. It goes down the longer you serve. You have to pay back what you owe them if you leave before 3 years. After 3 years served you are free to leave without owing anything.
Good luck, they are extremly short in all trades

Hi all,

I had my interview in London on 16th May and I am waiting for word if I have been successful or not. I'm pretty sure that they were going to let us know at the end of June. Are there any others out there who are tentatively waiting or heard from the recruitment team yet?

S & S - Safety and Surface trade, what about you? If it goes ahead for us all we could be relocating at the same time. Have you spent any time over in NZ? Keep in touch and let us know how your application goes, we have two young girls 10 and, the one is due to start Comp this September, I am hoping to gain some knowledge regarding how this will effect her. I have a feeling that Dec 2009 would be pretty good timing as I think the academic year may start in Jan, so much to find out!! All the best.

Hello again, Am not sure where we would like to be posted, we did live in Blenheim for a while, but I guess it's mainly a training base down there, am glad that you are enjoying life in NZ. If we are successful I think they are hoping for the move to take place in Dec 2009, so lots of time to go. Just a quick question, you may know the answer having been through the process. The good news is we have had a successful outcome to the interview, however have been advised not to hand in resignation until OOS comes through, which should be within two months. Is there anything we can do now to speed up the process regarding immigration, ie complete EOI or arrange medicals or do we need to wait until officiall OOS is received. Also am a bit worred regarding handing in notice over here and then maybe problems arise with immigration and we have no job in either place. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Hi Sarah,
my hubby also put in application and awaiting reply in September. We are not sure if they are looking for his trade. We are also considering putting in for a visa for Australia with myself as the main applicant. However, New Zealand would be great and probably our first choice. He leaves RAF in March so we feel that applying for Australia visa keeps our options open.
Good luck
regards
cathy

Red face Re: RNZAF / RAF transfers.

Hi Sarah,
my hubby is police. We are at Lossie. I can see advantages of New Zealand and to be able to go out to do a job he is familiar with would be a bonus. However, although he was invited to apply he has no idea whether they are taking his trade or not. We are going to go for the Aus visa as well and see what comes up. I will let you know if we hear anything. Would you qualify or your oh for visa for Aus/NZ without the RNZAF transfer? We were surprised that I would. I have enough points for a regional skilled visa sponsored by the state. You would be amazed some of the jobs they are looking for.
Will Keep you posted
Bye for now
