well you know how it is Ann - always up for a change!!!
After all those years of dreaming about him coming home and saying "that's it - I quit today!" he did it!! no one more shocked than me but there you go. All this a couple of days before deployment to gulf for second time this year. three days after he got back he had interview at NZ House for RNZAF, offer followed shortly after and the rest is NZIS stuff. lack of plan means that it is all go between him sorting out final work stuff, my job, kids schools and family. everyone looking forward to it. It just kind of happened!!!
Except for Janice I've not really kept in touch with anyone from Scampton. What's the hot news from there then!! Missing some of the wilder Bunco nights myself!!!
It's flippin freezing here so hope you are enjoying a fabulous, warm Christmas.

Finally after a lay off for a few months on expats I finally had some catching up to all the new threads that have been posted. Also there are a few newbies who have finally flocked to NZ and are enjoying life around the North Shore. Just thought I would try to upload a photo of the Jones's - Fenner families enjoying a traditional Boxing Day treat on Long Bay Beach. Me Dean, Matthew and the girls couldn't resist playing around with our new found sport on the beach a Blow Kart, Just thought I would have to post this thread as time trials on the beach were won by the Jones family with a time of 1.30 compared with 1.50 for Matthew, followed by a pathetic 5.50 for Dean who claims lack of wind direction on his part.
Hope its not too cold for you UK lot still out there.......by the way me and Dean suffered sunburnt feet its not a pretty sight, where is the Ozone Layer out here i ask....

Well happy new year to all of you there in 'the future' it's cold and damp back here in 2007, but after seeing the pic of the fireworks I got very excited, not long now. Fly out Feb 12th and we can't wait

Hello everyone, we are just new to this forum and are still in the early stages of that 'not quite sure' stage but have been reading with intrest all your threads. We are in the early stages of (hopefully) transferring to the RNZAF (that'll be my husband) and have two teenage boys. As i say, very early days yet and already all the paperork that everyone has been talking about is leaving our heads like mince. Would be a great help if anyone wouldn't mind answering our (many) questions. We have already found a lot of the threads a mine of information, and sitting here in rainy Scotland are already a bit green around the gills with envy at all you lucky sods already out there.

Hi CJandCLARE,
Hope you're both well, any questions you have about the paper work side of things then fire away, it's still fresh, well fairly, in my mind! PM if you'd prefer.

thanks for that quick reply richyandkat.
Good to see that you are on the move after all that frustrated waiting! At present I have had my application passed and held till the next lateral recruitment sitting in Feb (due to the fact there are no vacancies in my trade at this time) I have not at present PVR'd for obvious reasons, but we are looking to get head of the game, and do as much prep as we can due to the fact I am off to Marham on promotion and leaving the family here in the north, this will hopefully make things easier to cover if I pas the next stage. Clare is a nurse so this should help the immigration process for points.
Ps Were you on 111sqn 99-2000 time?

Hello CJandClaire !!!!
As you have read through the thread you will know we have been here 6 months now. We are all settled and feeling like home now. I feel in some respects I have just landed but in another I have lived here forever
The paperwork side is probably abit hazy for us now, but if you have any questions we can answer just fire away, as Rich and kat said pm me also if you prefer. All the best on your journey , it will be up and down but I can say worth it in the end. Debborah.x.

I was on 111 from 97-99 but I knew a lot of the lads there after that as I kept in touch with em and was back up at Leuchars after my fitters course late 99-02 and then again 05-07 on TASF and 56. This is quite exciting
How do you think you kow me? wot trade are you?
