Have just read the news that Chris Sievey has died at his home in manchester :(
Chris was the guy behind the genius that was Frank Sidebottom.
I wonder if he's told his mum??

He was origanally the leader of the freshies who are probably best know for
the single "I'm in love with the girl on the manchester virgin megastore check out desk"
which i am proud to say i have an original 7" copy :thumbup:
Frank first popped up in the mid 80's as a promom character for sieveys band and never looked back.

I doubt if many on here will have heard of him but he really was a manchester legend.

Frank was a weird character- I remember the "Timberly Radio"jingle- I guess he is one of those characters like Mike Flowers that the world is not quite sure what to do with!
