There is a good mower shop in Kaiapoi but have no idea of their prices. Perhaps give them a call as they have no prices on their website. They also sell bikes, and were mre than happy to chat through their bikes, and no pressure to buy at all :-)

Have you looked on trademe?
There is a place in Riccarton that does reconditioned mowers - we've only driven past so again, I have no idea what they're really like.
