Default returning visa

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me please. I emigrated here last January with permenant residency but i have a returning visa stamp in my passport with an expiry date of 2 years. What do i need to do to get this extended and what does it mean

If you are still in New Zealand when it expires you can go into your nearest NZIS office and apply for an Indefinite Returning Resident Visa (IRRV). The indefinite part means what it means.

Did mine the other week at Queen St branch AKL and it cost $140 and took about half an hour as I'd completed the paperwork before I went (you can download the form off the immigration website)
