Renting without viewing

Re: Renting without viewing
Drove up to Auckland today at the last minute to see a rental that was totally not what I was looking for. Its about as different to what I'm in now as you can get (which isn't a bad thing as I live in a boring beige box now!) and a good bit above my budget.
Was one of 17 people viewing so thought I had no chance but handed in my application and by the time I got home to Rotorua I had a call saying it was mine
Now just need to get onto the actual job of packing and moving...

Not sure what area you're looking in but Sue at Bayside is really helpful http://www.baysidepropertyrentals.co.nz/

Re: Renting without viewing
I wouldn't rent without looking, not at the places I have seen whilst looking
We were lucky enough to be put up for 2 weeks by my husbands employer but I did the research for the place. Looked up motels on trip advisor and then contacted the motels I liked directly to see if I could get a better weekly deal from them (9 times out of 10 you can) the longer you stay the better deal they will give you. I would recommend booking into something with too much room also, as motels can feel a little cramped long term. We booked a one bedroomed for the two of us which was perfect.
