Renting Property in NZ
Hi all,
we're trying to plan our flights, shipping and such like, and was just wondering how long it takes on average to get into a rental property from when you find somewhere suitable to moving in.

id say two weeks as a start, and then you can always extend if needed
best to block out those first two weeks so you can spend full-time setting up...
rent a car if you are not going to buy one straight away.

Might be worth asking, they might not offer if you don't ask! Both for different health boards - you would have thought that they all offer something?

We stayed for 2 weeks with my OH's boss and his family. They were great and helped us enormously with all kinda things. We were lucky.
We then moved to a rental in Wattle Downs (South Auckland) but didnt like it after 3 days.... and 3 weeks later we moved to Beachlands which we fell in love with. We rented for 1 year then sold a house in the UK and put down a deposit on a house here.
Things worked out well for us.... we expected to rent for 2 years but 1 year was enough to know that we love it here. We have another town house in UK which belongs to my partner and already he is seriously thinking of putting it up for sale... that will be our financial strings then finally cut with UK.

1st - Hawkes Bay
2nd Waikato,
Didn't interview with BOP as they had nothing in my line at the time I applied -Forensic nursing seems to be an even more specialised field in NZ than it is in England at the moment

I work for Lakes District Health Board Rotorua/Taupo. We offer $2000 relocation expenses and two weeks free accommodation.
I will be at both the London and Manchester Expos in October, recruiting health care staff. I will be there with the zest4life stand.
Cheers

BOP also use Zest4Life but aren't forthcoming in any relocation expenses
